Job Profile

The ideal candidate will be expected to create business policies and standard operating procedures across risk, control and compliance in a way that is effective, efficient and trustworthy to enable the Board and Management make smart decisions based on approved portfolios. 

S/he will be saddled with the responsibility of apply risk management practices as an enabler to achieving the business strategic objective as well as  drawing up and reviewing the organization policies to identify likely risks and proffer possible solutions to identified risk, to create and disseminate risk profile, risk measurements and reports to stakeholders having kept yourself abreast of the developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance to ensure zero infraction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of internal policies
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
  • Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or nonconformity issues
  • Draft, modify and implement company policies
  • Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
  • Keep abreast developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
  • Prepare reports for senior management as appropriate
  • To assess risk throughout the organization and in addition quantify risk limits
  • To maintain adequate and effective Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program thus ensuring the organisation is in full compliance with all regulations, rules and internal policies, procedures and processes.
  • Responsible for promoting risk culture
  • To assure achievement of the company’s objectives in operational effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • To advise on directing capital to projects based on risk
  • To create and disseminate risk profile & risk measurements and reports to stakeholders.
  • Prepare & present quarterly Board Risk Management reports to Board.
  • Conduct RCSA exercise to re-assess inherent risk & also identify potential & emerging risk.
  • To ensure and  drive security strategies, policies/standards, ensuring the effectiveness of solutions, providing security-focused consultative services, strategic, tactical direction and consultation on information security and compliance
  • To provide expertise and assistance to ensure the company infrastructure and information assets are well protected. 
  • Provides strategic and tactical direction and consultation on information security and compliance.
  • To also select and implement appropriate tools for necessary surveillance and monitoring of the company’s computing environment.
  • To work with the HR and other internal departments to facilitate information security risk analysis and risk management processes and to identify acceptable levels of residual risk.
  • To also communicate and educate periodically IT and other member of staff about security policies and industry standards, and provide solutions for enterprise/business security issues.
Key Requirements
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation in financial services/sector and Digital Technology of which 5 years should be at a senior level.
  • Good understanding of the business and various functions in the business, business trends and key developments, excellent working knowledge of the Capital Market, SEC rules and ICMR Regulations. 
  • A first degree in any discipline with a minimum of a second class lower degree and preferably a Master's degree in business administration, or equivalent business experience.
  • Experience in partnering with an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills, as well as a strong knowledge of processes.
