Our client is actively present in Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, CIS Republics, 30 countries in Africa and the Middle East. They currently have an opening for a Regional Regulatory Affairs and EHS Manager (Accra)

Role & Responsibilities: 

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the company compliance in the 3 areas in our 5 factories in Africa. As a part of the key functions:

Regulatory:

• Understand food regulations and regulatory processes, influence and monitor changes in line with Company policy of current food packaging, co-packed products and other regulations and regulatory processes that could affect technical aspects of our products. 
• Review and approve product formulations for technical compliance with national regulations and Company policy.

EHS:

• Subject matter expert for Environment, Health, and Safety requirements in a manufacturing environment as regulated by Government or Industry Standards and/or ability to grow knowledge working with EHS teams
  
• Maintain EHS standard visual controls in the plant
  
• Management of the safety operating system for the plant.
  
• Internal assessments of plant compliance to EHS requirements
  
• Coordinate initial investigations and complete reports for safety incidents
  
• Work with operators, plant Supervisors, and other functional departments to train, coordinate EHS activities and participate on problem solving team. Includes taking direction from General Manager
  

Champion for SAFETY FIRST culture and promote zero incidents

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science 
  
• 5-10 years of experience in a EHS or Regulatory role
  
• Strong background in the food industry
  
• French very beneficial
  
• Full availability to travel required
